From September 13 to 15, 2018, Dr. Lei Li, Dean of Xi'an Jiaotong University Shanghai Academy, Dr. Shi Jianbo, Director of Offshore Innovation Center of Xi'an Jiaotong University Shanghai Academy, Dr. Xu Jian, Researcher of Chinese Academy of Sciences Chemistry Institute, member of Expert Consultation on National New Materials Industry Development Committee, and Vice Chairman of the China Composite Materials Society, and related leaders visited the High Performance Composites Company NUOVA CONNAVY in Milan, Italy. There they had a cooperative discussion with Mr. Renzo Pagliari, General Manager of NUOVA CONNAVY, on the technology of the design and manufacturing of high performance composite parts.
NUOVA CONNAVY is the only company that can manufacture military full-wave sonar shields in Europe. It has rich experience in the production and R&D in the high-strength organic materials and mechanical parts for more than 30 years. The company has a significant portion of high-mechanical-grade auto parts in the European market, and its accumulated investment in production equipment has reached about 150 million Euros over the years.
During the visit, they mainly exchanged opinions on intellectual property applications. The Italian representatives indicated that they would overcome all the difficulties and fully cooperate with the work, and then they unanimously agreed to supplement the original cooperation agreement.
Next, the Chinese side will propose the manufacturing specifications of the relevant mechanical parts samples of the composite materials, and propose the test plan and test parameter standards. The Italian side will complete the manufacturing and testing in Italy, and then hand it over to the Chinese side, and the Chinese side will manage to obtain the recognition of the test or generate a formal official test report in China.
