Dean Lei Li have signed two agreements with Xi'an Jiaotong University about "Build the nanometer science and energy storage technology joint laboratory together" and donate 5 million yuan as lab running funds
As the 120th anniversary of Xi'an Jiaotong University and 60th anniversary of college movement, dean Lei Li have officially signed agreement with Xi'an Jiaotong University about "Build the nanometer science and energy storage technology joint laboratory together", and at the same time signed donate agreement about donat 5 million yuan as lab running funds
The agreement signing ceremony was held in the 107 meeting room in Yifu science centre of Xi'an Jiaotong University at April 4th. The participants are Professor Wang Shuguo which is the president of Xi'an Jiaotong University, professor Wang Jianhua which is the former secretary of the party committee, professor Rong Mingzhe, professor Xi Guang, professor Wang Tiejun, researcher Zhang Hanrong which are the vice-presidents of Xi'an Jiaotong University, as well as leaders and teachers from electrical Engineering Department of Xi'an Jiaotong University, alumni relationship sector, Science Academy and Insititute, Economics and Finance Department, City Department of Xi'an Jiaotong University.
Ceremony presided over by professor Xi Guang which is the vice-presidents of Xi'an Jiaotong University. He introduced the dean Lei Li to the leaders and alumni first:" Alumni Lei Li studied bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering Department at 1980, EMBA degree in Management Department at 2004, doctor degree of Applied Economic In Economics and Finance Department at 2009. He is the current dean of Shanghai Academy of Xi'an Jiaotong University. He also had served as CEO of Xi'an Jiaotong University & Botong Information Co. , LTD.( SH600455) , then as chairman of City Department of Xi'an Jiaotong University. Now he is the executive director of Xi'an Jiaotong University Financial alumni association, current chairman of Shanghai Grid Electric Power Science Technology Co. , LTD. We can see, both his study and work has closely connected with Xi'an Jiaotong University since 1980."
Professor Wang Shuguo which is the president of Xi'an Jiaotong University delivered a speech. He pointed that this donation ceremony was the largest scale and highest specifications activity of this anniversary which invited professor Wang Jianhua that former secretary of the party committee, four vice-presidents of Xi'an Jiaotong University and other related leaders of departments. Xi'an Jiaotong University responded the call by the party and the country that have moved the college to northwest 60 years. At the same time, 2016 is the beginning year of the 13th Five Year Plan, and Xi president have suggested the "One Belt One Road" idea and "China Dream" concept. We deeply realize that the timing of second pioneering work is ripe, and we look forward that alumni represented by Lei Li with XJTU will take the opportunity well and progress together. In addition, president Wang highly affirmed that alumni Lei Li concerned about school development and alumni work. He said:" Alumni Lei Li is an extremely well-organized and charismatic person. I had deeply communication with him during the past several alumni activities. He has a macro strategic vision as well as the very strong ability of actual operation. We should appreciate about the close relationship between alumni Lei Li with school and hope more deep cooperation with him. Best wishes for the career of alumni Lei Li!"
After president Wang, dean Lei Li gave a speech in ceremony. The relationship with Alma mater have been 36 years since he study at Xi'an Jiaotong University While "never forget where one's happiness comes from" as a tradition of XJTU. It is responsibility of XJTU alumni that return to his Alma mater and do some meaningful things for her when this significant anniversary. Xi'an Jiaotong University moved from Shanghai to northwest while the nation in peril and the country needs with keeping modest and low-key attitude. This courageous and resolute behavior was very exciting and touching. After reviewed life during study at Xi'an Jiaotong University, dean Lei Li expressed gratitude to school teachers, leaders, alumni and colleagues. He thanked teacher Chen Degui during the undergraduate level for her teaching; he thanked professor Wang Jianhua for his care, support and help at each important moment; he thanked the Living Buddha Zhi Meiere as a philosophy tutor for his guidance and shows him tolerance, share and calm; he thanked alumni Yue Huafeng for his support and help dean Lei Li worked again in XJTU; he thanked classmates professor Rong Mingzhe and Geng Yingsan for their friendship and it is an honor to work with them; he thanked doctoral advisor Yuan Xiaoling and other teachers in Economics and Finance Department for their help and guidance about study and career; he thanked vice-president Xi Guang, Wang Tiejun, Zhang Hanrong for their support and help in work during all these years; he thanked teacher Zhou Gang from alumni relationship sector for his cautious and conscientious work for alumni; he thanked professor Chen Guangde as a six years colleague in XJTU City Department for his kindness and help; he thanked the team members from Shanghai Academy and Grid-Elec which include general manager Li Jing, deputy general manager Li Shenglei, Zheng Huating and Li Guoqian, and so on, for their trust and support; he thanked alumni in XJTU JEC Club for their care and support; he thanked alumni from XJTU Financial alumni association for their communication and share. Finally he gratefully thanked his parents and family for their fully support that he could dedicate to his career and was able to do some public welfare undertakings.
Dean Lei Li focus on public welfare undertakings of XJTU for long-terms, and positive thinking long-term mechanism and operation mode of public welfare undertakings of XJTU. He tried to utilized advantages in international communication and industry incubation of Shanghai Academy to make his own contribution in the field of research and application of frontier science. After several negotiation and report with president Wang Shuguo, the construction mode of this international joint laboratory was confirmed. The original technique research background and strong research capabilities of XJTU are the motive power of development of the "Joint Lab". The "Joint Lab" will be established by both Russia and China. Chinese side mainly include Xi'an Jiaotong University, Electrical Engineering Department of XJTU, state key laboratory of electrical insulation of electric power equipment and Shanghai Academy of XJTU; Russian side include the national university of Novosibirsk, Nicholas's research institute of academy of sciences of Novosibirsk and other related research institution. The construction goals of the "Joint Lab" is " to build international first-class and leading key laboratory", and based on basic science driving the development of applied science to introduce world-class research institution, academic talents and scientific research achievements, then serve the Alma mater, the national economic construction, the global energy revolution, the world environmental and ecological improvement and sustainable development. Besides the 5 million yuan running funds donated this time, dean Lei Li will successively provide above 10 million yuan funds for the lab to purchase all kinds of instruments and equipment.
Dean Lei Li focused on alumni relationship and school development. Every alumni in alumni activities concerned school development and wish Alma mater greater and stronger. XJTU as a prestigious university with 120 years history should promote the science research and teaching capabilities and international impacts with international vision by develop more activities in international cooperation, joint research, academic communication and so on.
Finally, professor Li Shengtao which is the executive director of Electrical Engineering Department signed the agreement of "Build the nanometer science and energy storage technology joint laboratory together", as well as the vice-president Zhang Hanrong signed the "public welfare donation agreement" of donate 5 million yuan running funds to the lab, and president Wang Shuguo awarded the donation certificate to dean Lei Li.
