Dr. Lei Li, Dean of Xi’an Jiaotong University Shanghai Academy, Mr. Li Dewen, Associate Dean of Xi’an Jiaotong University Shanghai Academiy and other delegation members have visited Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Philippines, Senate of the Philippines, Department of Energy of Philippines, National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, Manila Water Company from June 14th till 18th. During this visit, plentiful discussions on international cooperation have been carried out under the guidance of “the Belt and Road” policy and achieved fruitful results.
1.Mr. Aquilino Koko Pimentel Ⅲ, Senator of Senate of the Philippines, speaks highly of the policy proposal on promoting the process of bilateral trade cooperation and currency exchange by Dr. Lei Li and he has expressed his willingness to facilitate the process of such bilateral currency exchange from the aspects of Senate and Law.
2.Mr. Alfonso G. Cusi, Minister of Department of Energy of Philippines warmly welcomes the arrival of our delegation. The two parties have carried out deep communication on the direction of future energy development of Philippines and plan to establish long-term strategic cooperation in the fields of liquefied natural gas, nuclear energy and others. Meanwhile, the Philippine side expects us to carry out professional training in technique and management so to help facilitate the process of industrialization.
3.Melandrew T. Velaso, Executive Director of Manila Water Company and General Velasco, Chairman of Manila Water Company have carried out discussion with our delegation on the current condition and needs of water, General Velasco appreciates the valuable advice of ours. Both parties have agreed to establish a water research center in Philippines which involves comprehensive technology of water resources, water engineering development, construction, supervision and operation and maintenance technology, water clean energy technology, ecological environment construction technology, water industry industrialization and investment and financing channels, international water technical cooperation projects and other many other fields.
4.The delegation has met Mr.Melvin A. Matibag, the Chairman of National Grid Corporation of the Philippines of TransCo. The two parties have carried out discussion on the top level planning and design of Mindanao submarine UHV transmission and exchanged opinion as well as signing relevant agreement in terms of cooperation.
Mr. Jin Yuan, Counselor of Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Philippines speaks highly of the visit of Xi’an Jiaotong University Shanghai Academic Institute participating into a series of planning and design activities in Philippines. Mr. Zhang Yaowu, GM of Xi’an Electric Engineering Corporation, Mr. Si Yang, Representative of Power China in Philippines and Mr. Chen Yang, Deputy GM of Northwest Engineering Corporation Limited of Power China have also participated in this visit.
